Programme Dates

You will complete an 8-12 week internship with a global host company, choosing from a variety of roles and sectors. Each online internship takes place Monday-Friday although the working hours each week may differ slightly between host companies.

To apply for this programme you must be available for:

  • 8 to 10 week duration: 20 – 40 hours per week
  • 10+ week duration: 10 hours or more per week

This programme is fully funded for eligible students of participating partner universities. Students will be invoiced for a refundable $200 deposit when accepting an offer.

Application Process

Pagoda will be accepting applications until September 17th. We will provide confirmation of acceptance onto the programme throughout the year until all places are allocated.

1. SUBMIT YOUR 2-MIN APPLICATION

Record a quick video or complete a phone interview (your choice!) so we can assess your application as part of our selection process. Once submitted, we’ll be in touch within 24 hours.

2. INTERNSHIP SELECTION

If selected, our friendly team will be in contact to discuss your preferences, find the most suitable options and coach you through the interviewing process with your chosen host companies.

3. ONBOARDING

You’ve confirmed your internship – congratulations! Next you’ll gain access to the Pagoda Portal to start your onboarding and we’ll organise live sessions and events to ensure our sector-leading support is with you from day one.

All programmes are managed on the Pagoda Portal - a digital hub for our student community. This is where you can track your progress, register for events, access skills courses, network with other interns and request additional support.

Studying in Australia? If hoping to receive NCP funding you must…

  • Be studying at an Australian Partner University
  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Currently be completing an undergraduate degree
  • Be able to receive university credit for this internship
  • Not be a citizen or permanent resident of the host location
  • Have not previously received a New Colombo Plan mobility grant for an in-country experience
  • Complete the separate application process required by your university prior to the deadline. NOTE These deadlines are likely to differ to Pagoda’s

Programme Components

An internship is the best way to gain exposure in your chosen field. And our online programmes will provide you with the key industry, digital and communication skills you need to succeed in any remote workplace. You’ll attend meetings remotely, work with industry-specific software, and use what you’ve learnt at university to make decisions that have a real impact.

We work with hundreds of fantastic companies around the world, from big crypto consultancies to sustainability start-ups, who are ready and waiting to share their knowledge and show you the ropes. Your internship supervisor will oversee your placement and offer professional support throughout the programme, alongside Pagoda’s friendly in-country team. 

Our team will go to great lengths to source opportunities that match your personal preferences. You can review each position and company individually to decide which internships you’d like to apply for. We’ll help you with your CV, cover letter and organise interviews to set you up properly for success.

The Online Skills Courses

Our online skills courses focus on Employability, Digital Competency and Intercultural Fluency. They’ll provide you with the skills and agility needed for a global and ever-changing workplace. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate to keep, post on LinkedIn and show to future employers.

Intercultural Fluency

This course provides an understanding of the importance of adaptability when dealing with intercultural communication in the workplace and society. We focus on the foundations of intercultural understanding and will develop your cultural fluency, exploring relevant case studies.

Digital Competency

This course introduces the fundamentals of digital networking, digital marketing, and digital presentations skills. This course will introduce LinkedIn features and how to make the most of your LinkedIn profile, key differences and benefits between a variety of social media platforms, basic knowledge of SEO and SEM and techniques to improve public speaking skills in a digital context.

Employability Skills

This course equips you with the tools to identify your current skill set and gain an understanding of the skills needed to enhance career readiness. Self-awareness exercises will build confidence for students looking to apply their skills to different specifications when applying for jobs in the future.

Workplace Basics

This course provides an understanding of the skills required to succeed in a remote workplace. We focus on key skills such as productivity, time management, communication and the use of digital platforms, and the importance of being adaptable when working in a global, professional environment.

A unique way to share cultures

As part of this programme, you’ll be paired with a cultural mentor from one of our amazing in-country destinations. Your mentor will check in regularly and provide current topics for you both to discuss. This improves your intercultural awareness and cross-communication skills, which are integral for working in a global organisation. 

Maximising your exposure to different cultures will make you feel comfortable when collaborating with future colleagues and external partners. It will also bridge barriers and connect you with other students or graduates around the world.
