Hello!
First off, let me introduce myself. I’m George Balkwill. I’m 22 years old and am the newest member of the InternChina team, my role is UK Marketing and Alumni relations. I’ve been here just over a week and already it’s pretty awesome to witness what our interns are up to after their time in China!

I’ve been a part of InternChina since mid-2013, when I joined as a one-day-per-week intern as part of my second year or university. During this time working in the UK office in Manchester I got to know more about InternChina and what they do, work alongside the teams in Zhuhai, Qingdao & Chengdu as well as visit universities and set up events such as Experience Asia.

However, it was not until my trip to Zhuhai in the summer of 2014, that I got to experience first-hand what it’s like to live in China. The six weeks I was there flew by, Zhuhai’s an incredible city, and located so close to Hong Kong and Macau, I was able to visit several over places too!

I work in InternChina’s Manchester office with Managing Director, Jamie Bettles and Bookings Administrator, Ali Hashemi. I’m lucky enough this year to be heading to China very soon – Chengdu in particular – for three months starting in August to join Paul Yeandle and the team there. It’ll be great to be able to explore a bit more of China and experience a new city as well as the well-famed spicy food. If there’s one thing I do know, it’ll be an awesome adventure. Stay tuned for some updates from Chengdu…
