This company is an impact investing pioneer group specialized in advisory, research, incubation, market data and news. Developing existing client relationships and creating new ones – influencing the growth of Impact Investing in Africa and other emerging markets.

This company was established in March 2017. Today their principal office is in Geneva (Founex), Switzerland. They operate internationally and work with clients worldwide but focus on emerging and frontier markets primarily, but not exclusively, in Africa (Zambia, Tanzania, DRC, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius and DRC).

In addition to serving their clients, this company engages and contributes to ongoing policy-focused debate at seminars and conferences (most recently the Africa CEO Forum; UNECE People First PPPs etc.), as well as delivering capacity building PPP and Impact Investing training courses and knowledge sharing presentations to international clients

ESG Services Internship

Internship Description:

  • Identify the contact details (address, e-mail, phone number, website, and name of Chief Investment Officer) of Northern Italy (i.e. Lombardy) & Swiss Based Pension Funds (starting with Canton of Geneva) that they can exploit in furtherance of its Impact Investing and ESG Activities
  • Identify the contact details (address, e-mail, phone number, website, and name of Chief Investment Officer) of Geneva-based Asset Managers (i.e. impact investors & Family Office) that they can introduce to the IIX-SIIA Investor Circle using Sustainable Finance Geneva (SFG) database
  • Identify the contact details (address, e-mail, phone number, website, and name of Chief Investment Officer) of Geneva-Based Foundations that they can introduce to the IIX-SIIA Investor Circle using the SFG database
  • Write down talking points on existing or non-existing impact investing / ESG capacities (max 1-2 paragraphs) for the above mentioned organizations within each of these four categories which they can use when calling the Chief Investment Officers of the relevant small-to medium-sized Pension Funds to market our ESG services
  • Assist in fine-tuning their existing ESG Tool kit for Pension Funds adapted to the regulation in Switzerland, Italy (EU-regulation) and Africa
  • Assist in the construction and implementation of the analytical ESG Investment toolkit that help further the understanding of the relationship between ESG factors and financial performance data of Pension Funds
  • Contribute to the preparation of and execution of the their SIIA Impact Investor Circle webinar series focusing on the Kenyan Impact Investment ecosystem.
  • Complete ad-hoc assignments (e.g. impact investing consultancy/advisory for private or public clients) to support the growing operations of the company
  • Report to the company as needed and in particular through weekly team meetings and monthly in-writing reporting

Internship Requirements:

  • University degree (Masters/MBA) from a leading university; ideally a Master degree related to Corporate Finance; Development Economics; or Marketing
  • Direct (impact-) investment experience a major plus
  • International experience especially from the Global South
  • Strong business development acumen, including marketing of advisory services
  • Attention to details and pro-activity
  • Outstanding communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent level of English written and spoken.
