Lena’s Introduction Blog

你好! Hello! Hallo! Bonjour! Ciao! Hej!
I am Lena, 24 years old and just started my internship in Marketing and Sales with InternChina in Chengdu. I am from a small town in Northern Germany, called Flensburg where I received my bachelor’s degree in ‘International Business Administration and Modern Languages’.
InternChina – first day at the office
After I got done with my school, I got really excited to start working “in the real world”. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone and look for an internship across the world.
My research led me to InternChina who offered a marketing position for 6 months in Chengdu, which was exactly what I was looking for.
14.000.000 people compared to 90.000? The knowledge of Danish, English and German combined with the absolute absence of Chinese? That sounded like an adventure of a lifetime!
I immediately wrote an email to the office manager Paul to hear more about the opportunity and I was very happy when I found a reply in my inbox the next day. From that day on the process started, and I am very grateful for the help I received throughout the entire process.
InternChina – today’s view from the office
I have been in Chengdu for a week now, I am still adjusting to the time difference, the food, the culture, the food, the food, the food, the food…. well, I have to admit street barbeque is absolutely amazing!
Everyone around here at InternChina has been so friendly, helpful and amazing that it is really easy to feel welcomed and accepted by the team and I am really happy to be part of the company!
