大家好Hello everyone!
My name is Susanna, I am doing a marketing and admin internship at InternChina Qingdao office.

I come from a beautiful small country called Estonia. When I tell people abroad where I come from, I often hear: “I’ve never met an Estonian before” or “where’s that?” as a response. Surprisingly, in China people seem to know Estonia pretty well and they often get quite excited, mention the fact that we used to be a part of the Soviet Union and ask me if I speak Russian (I do).

I am currently studying Chinese and International Relations in Leeds University in the UK and will be going into my final year of undergraduate studies this September.

Even though I am new to Qingdao, I am not new to China. As a part of my degree in Leeds, I did my year abroad in Shanghai in 2012, learning Chinese in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Studying in China was by far the most exciting year of my life! Apart from studying Chinese, I also had a chance to travel around the country quite a bit and there are some really amazing places in China to visit.

Since I really like nature and mountains, I went to visit quite a few of China’s famous scenic seas.  Some of the most beautiful places I visited were the Yellow Mountain or Huang Shan 黄山, Mount Hua or Hua Shan 华山, Zhangjiajie 张家界 (they filmed Avatar there!), Jiuzhaigou 九寨沟and Huanglong 黄龙. I recommend anyone coming to or currently in China to go visit these places if you have a chance; it’s really worth it!

When I left Shanghai in 2013, coming back was all I was thinking about. Hence, I decided to return to China in the summer, as soon as I finish my second year in Leeds University. Since I also wanted to get some work experience and not simply travel around, I was lucky to find InternChina, which offered the perfect opportunity for me to spend my summer vacation in China, while gaining some valuable work experience at the same time.

I have been working in the InternChina Qingdao office for over a week now and I am really enjoying the whole experience. The people here are wonderful and I am learning new things every day. Since I am only staying in beautiful Qingdao for one short month, I am quite busy all the time, trying to make the most out of this experience. Which also means that days go by way too quickly! I have already looked around Qingdao a bit, but there are still many things I would like to do here and I cannot wait to explore some more of this wonderful city and its beautiful scenery and seaside.
